Individualized Physiotherapy for Patients
What is physiotherapy rehabilitation?
Pro Physio’s Registered Physiotherapists are highly skilled clinicians who provide non-surgical treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions and injuries, post-operative care, vestibular impairments, and post concussion challenges.
Physiotherapy treatment at Pro Physio can involve a variety of specialized techniques, including manual manipulation and/or mobilization of tissues and joints; exercise therapy; postural, gait, balance, and co-ordination re-training; fascial release, vestibular training, and extensive education in regards to your condition and how to manage it. Your Physiotherapist may also employ additional physical therapy modalities including dry needling, electrotherapy, ultrasound, acupuncture, and more. Physiotherapists have the expert skills to assess, diagnose and treat your injury.
If you’ve been injured in a motor vehicle accident, suffered a sports injury, or are concerned by your loss of mobility as you age, Pro Physio Rehabilitation Center offers individualized physiotherapy that Northern Ontario, in particular Sudbury, has trusted since 2008.
We offer one on one, consistent evaluation. Children will have different physiotherapy needs and goals than baby boomers, many of whom wish to stay as active as they were in their youth. Our team will tailor a treatment program to meet your individual concerns using a wide array of services, including:
-
Manual therapy
This includes hands-on techniques, spinal and peripheral joint mobilization and manipulation.
-
Pelvic health physiotherapy
We offer assessments and treatments for various conditions related to pelvic floor dysfunction. Treatments often include a combination of education, exercise prescription and manual treatment techniques. For more information on pelvic floor physiotherapy services offered, please contact our clinic.
-
Exercise therapy
Exercise therapy consists of core stability, flexibility training, fascial release, strength and resistance training, as well as postural, gait and balance training to help improve your physicality.
-
Integrated dry needling
This is the stimulation of a myofascial trigger point using a thin filament needle. The goal is to release the trigger point which improves the length of the muscle where the trigger point was found, and thereby reduces your pain and improves your strength.
-
Acupuncture
This stimulates pressure points to reduce pain and inflammation related to musculoskeletal impairments or dysfunction in your body.
-
Modalities
Our modalities include therapeutic ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES), transcutaneous electrical neuromuscular stimulation (TENS) and IFC.
-
Education
We offer postural education, proper mechanics with respect to specific activities, sports, and recreational pursuits as well as work-related tasks. We help you develop pain management strategies, energy conservation tips, pacing techniques, progressive stretching and strengthening programs, as well as provide you with information about specific strategies to both manage and prevent injury.
-
